The New Accommodation project has expanded the Academy’s facilities to meet its requirements now and into the future, accommodating an additional 180 students. Each student room is fully self-contained. No eating or entertainment facilities are provided within the rooms, but there are 3 communal areas for recruits to meet, socialise with tea and coffee making facilities. The project contained the following challenges, all successfully achieved by Richard Crookes
- Sensitive live environment delivery whilst maintaining operational continuity for the academy throughout construction. - All personnel were required to obtain clearance from NSW police to visit and work at the academy. RCC were required to advise the academy promptly each week on who would be attending site the following week. - Delivered in less than 12 months, this stands as a testament to the power of teamwork and meticulous planning. The Goulburn Police Academy Accommodation stands as a pinnacle of success for NSW Police, the Academy, Downer, and RCC. RCC’s innovative solution efficiently met all user requirements within budget and schedule constraints. Collaborative refinement with stakeholder groups ensured seamless design approval and timely commencement. Through swift high voltage relocation and adherence to the original schedule, the project was delivered with excellence, resulting in a simple yet striking architectural marvel. Minimal post-completion issues attest to its enduring functionality and aesthetic satisfaction.
