The well-known Crows Nest Hotel has had extensive renovations - the basement was excavated to provide a much-needed loading dock, coolrooms, grease trap, main switchboard and coolroom facilities.   Shared access with adjacent building construction works made rock removal, shoring and equipment selection critical to the works program.  The building was re-roofed and the heritage-listed façade was repaired and re-painted. Ground and first floor areas were renovated to provide new bars, kitchen and dining areas. An outdoor area on the first floor was a feature of the design. The second floor was renovated for administration and meeting rooms.  Materials handling, access and the limitations of the existing building were managed well and the finished building is of an excellent standard of finish.
