The existing pool was a rectangular design with offset spa, finished in a Nepean Gold pebblecrete and sandstone paved coping. The spa and rear wall of the existing pool were demolished and the pool extended to achieve a swim length of nine metres. The eastern wall of the pool was augmented to create an infinity edge. The owner was very mindful of heat and water loss associated with infinity edges, so in response to these energy and water loss concerns, an alternative was developed. In lieu of the conventional balance tank to collect the overflow water, a stainless-steel gutter was designed to convey the overflow water to a remote storage balance tank. The stainless-steel gutter is located immediately below the weir (infinity edge) to minimise loss of water through evaporation and loss of heat. Fully tiled in Bisazza tiles, this pool has undergone a stunning transformation, of which Senator Pools should be immensely proud.
