The Challenger fitout had every possible control in place, something that resembled a nuclear power plant or a medical operating theatre. Money did not seem to be an hindrance, as the safety controls included negative air pressure, a completely vacuum-sealed work environment and X-ray welded bolted joints that had to be cut to reinstate a steel staircase that was previously bespoke made off site to cut into sections to fit into an existing goods lift.
Works programmed had to consider and work around a live corporate legal environment. Numerous safety checks were undertaken to remove concrete slab in-fills coordinated with engineering approval including the all-encompassing existing services. This required the utmost
attention prior to any physical work taking place.
A methodically controlled process and program proving a near technically perfect and safe way to do HRCW, a pleasure to judge.
