This high water table and unstable soil presented challenges to the contractor and required grout injected piers across the site prior to pouring the concrete slab. To fast track construction, steel fabrication was commenced prior to commencement of work for the complex steel frame which includes exposed curved structural steel members.   The judges were impressed with the curved tile walls, extensive joinery and detailed stair finishing as well as the non-standard external brickwork and the curved metal and sandstone cladding.
