The natural landscape was the key in the design of this northern beaches swimming pool. Surrounded by natural bushland and established tropical plants and trees, the pool’s design enhances the home and ensures a seamless flow. One of the pool’s main building challenges was access, and all construction materials had to be carried in an inclinator, 200 metres up to the residence. To accommodate the material, the inclinator’s roof had to be removed. The steepness of the site meant the pool has been completely structurally formed above ground, including the floor. The 12-metre-long pool features a full negative wet edge on one side, giving the appearance of flowing over the side, and into the bushland beyond. In keeping with the clients’ desire for a natural-looking pool and surrounds, light-coloured timber was used for the decking, and the pool is finished with a natural stone waterline tile and dark pebble interior. Glass fencing ensures the views from the home aren’t impeded, and Aquastar lighting enhances the ambience at night. Another dazzling result from Sunrise Pools.
