Lindfield Learning Village has had several iterations as an educational facility. Originally it was known as the Ku Ring Gai College of Advanced Education and then became a campus of UTS. It was built during the State Government’s ‘Brutalist Architecture’ period and one positive of this was that it was built to last. Taylor’s task was to upgrade the old buildings into a modern school, initially to cater for a student population of 350 but progressing to 2000. Its greatest challenge was the very tight timeframe. Taylor met its deadlines by working 24/7, utilising multiple shifts. The school opened on time on 30 January 2019. The completed work is very extensive and includes a large amount of concrete restoration. There are great communal spaces, many classrooms and a magnificent auditorium. The finished project is all of high quality and reflects the passion of the team from Taylor.
