The iconic Hydro Majestic Hotel in the Blue Mountains has lain derelict and vacant for many years. Taylor Construction has given it new life with a blend of new integrated with the old.
Taylor Construction was engaged to construct the new Mark Foy Pavilion Building, the Delmonte Building, the Majestic commercial kitchen and substantial civil and landscaping works. The existing boiler room has been modified to incorporate a new dining area. Restoration work was also undertaken within the old hotel to give it new life.
The Mark Foy Pavilion was constructed using insulated pre-cast panels, a structural steel frame and metal roof with extensive infill polished concrete slabs. The Boiler House refurbishment and extension required careful demolition and some conservation work to the existing structure, with additional work sympathetic to the existing structure and finishes.
The work, subject to extremes of weather in a very exposed environment, has been carried out to a high standard and is a wonderful addition to the area and community.
