This house has a passive solar design and is something different thanks to the external walls made from standard straw bales and rendered in a lime render. All doors and windows are made from hardwood and double glazed. Lots of recycled hardwood has been used throughout the house. The floor construction is very interesting - a concrete slab with underfloor heating and compacted earth then sealed with linseed oil. A great project that blends well into its surroundings.
