The new Science Building accommodates the University’s School of Science and Health, the Advanced Materials Characterisation Facility and The School of Social Sciences and Psychology. It has the capacity to accommodate over 400 students and staff.
The building has been built with a six star, green star rating.
After the Contract was awarded, value engineering workshops and design development workshops with the University and project design team recognized, reviewed and ultimately adopted a large number of value engineering ideas and savings options.
Contaminated soils, extensive unknown existing services and client requests for additional works were addressed as works proceeded. The project included an active mass in-slab hydronic heating and cooling system.
