Refreshing to see best price doesn’t necessarily win. And that is exactly what won AW Edwards this project. By providing the client with a unique temporary engineered structural steel solution. A carefully designed steel structure provided their client with an opportunity to gain access to two buildings, over numerous levels encompassing the entire height of the building. This innovation removed the need to structurally alter the adjoining building and alleviated any subsequent re-work. This innovative safety solution allowed the relocation of existing occupants from one building to another while maintaining program on what was now a conjoined structure. An idea that the University of NSW was prepared to put safety before price for all the right reasons. It’s the simple things, like controlling student access amongst deliveries and vehicular traffic that impressed the judges.
