Externally this stunning building comprising of a 60 bed extension aged care facility immediately adjacent to the existing Mercy Place Hospital included an under croft.  The attention tot detail by the builder has resulted in a high quality of finish with the coloured off form coloured concrete panels.  Merging the steel frame with the concrete structure and of the building envelope with the façade concrete panels, metal roofing and featured glazed panels.  Building adjacent to an existing hospital posed restrictions with deliveries and the noise and dust associated with a building project of this type plus the coordination of the construction sequence with the traffic management resulted in a project that the works were completed without incident or complaint thus demonstrating the professionalism of the builder.  The judges were impressed with the heating which was achieved by reticulated hot water through the heaters in each room which were complimented with the solar panels.  The large rooms and the many family get together rooms gave a welcoming feeling to whole development.
