The certification agency that signs off on the majority of Australia’s building products has been temporarily suspended.
CertMark International (CMI) has had its accreditation suspended under the CodeMark and WaterMark rules. While suspended they cannot issue any CodeMark or WaterMark certificates. The suspension is due to CMI not meeting scheme accreditation requirements. They have been given 60 working days to resolve the issues.
The suspension is effective from 10 July 2019 subject to forensic audit of certificates for Aluminium Composite Panels. CertMark has previously been given a Direction to withdraw eight certificates that, in JAS-ANZ opinion, failed to meet the evidence requirements for sound product certification or the CodeMark Scheme.
