Exciting and important concessions have been put in place for members for the 4 month period from the 2 November 2020 to 28 February 2021. 

One of the major new member concessions is with Master Builder Insurance Brokers (MBIB). It will provide all members – current customer or not, with a free health check of their current insurance policies. 

Our insurance brokers have assisted members in identifying gaps in policy coverage that could have led to increased operational cost exposure. Below are some typical examples of policy issues that were uncovered.

• Cover and/or defence of liabilities caused by sub-contractors 
• Welding and hot works exclusions 
• No cover for contracted works once a contract has been signed with homeowner/principal

We encourage all members to take advantage of this free service. It will ensure that the policies you have in place are providing the correct level of coverage. This service needs to be pre-booked and will be provided over the phone or as an online consultation.

During COVID-19 support of members has been our central focus; some of the member concessions we have been able to provide include:

• Access to free e-contracts and CPD webinars, which will end on the 31st October 2020.
• Frozen increases to membership subscription renewal’s to the end of the financial year ending 30th June 2021.
• Provided free COVID-19 site safety signage which has assisted members and our industry to demonstrate our commitment to working on site safely under NSW Health guidelines.
• We continue to assist members experiencing financial hardship by providing flexible payment arrangements.
• Members that are experiencing difficult family issues, heightened stress or mental health concerns have been provided with support from our foundation partner Mates in Construction. This service is accessible to all members and their family by contacting ‘Mates” on 1300 642 111.

We still have some limited stock of the COVID-19 site signage available for members. These can be picked up from any of the MBA locations. Any members that have not taken up this offer can do so, till the end of November or until stock runs out.
