On 9 October 2024, Fire and Rescue NSW published the following new position statements on their website.

The Fire hydrant system – single vs multiple position statement “emphasises that the NCC identifies the provision of a single fire hydrant system only, reminding building proponents to consider such in any hydrant system design”.

The self-storage facilities position statement notes “self-storage facilities have potential to involve special hazards under E1D17 and E2D21 of the National Construction Code 2022”, and advises that certifiers “should identify what additional provisions are being provided, if any, and whether they are commensurate to the hazards and risks when certifying any related building application”.
