The kit provides a useful resource for new homeowners, however was produced with the intent of assisting builders to minimise their exposure to defect claims after occupation and ensuring the client is aware of maintenance requirements. 

The kit contains:

• A final “walk-through” checklist
• Home Owners Maintenance and Emergency Manual
• Guide to maintaining the termite management system
• CSIRO guide to Foundation Maintenance.

The documents is contained in a sturdy plastic document folder in which the builder can also include a copy of approved plans and specification and any warranty documents attached to the project.
